2012 Super Photo Session

July 22 was Oyako Day was a fantastic success. This was the 10th year and 110 families came to have their photos taken by Bruce. The Super Session started at 9:00 in the morning and went until 8:00 at night. Thanks all the volunteers, sponsors, and families that have supported Oyako Day project. Stay tuned, we will be posting the photos from this year's session on the website.

Endoh's in Sendai

 

We visited with Endoh's in Sendai. They had lost all their family photos due to the Tohoku tsunami and I took their portrait at the 2011 Oyako Day Super Photo Session. This was the first time to see them since then. The cherry blossoms we're blooming and so where the Endoh family.

"Witness Japan: One Year Later"

David Ono hosts the 4 part special program on KABC Los Angeles News documenting the damage and recovery after last year's earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

Photographer Bruce Osborn is a native of Los Angeles, but has lived in Japan for decades. After the disaster he wanted to help, and found the perfect way when he discovered people in the evacuation shelters were distraught over losing one thing in particular -- their family photos.
